JOY AND HOPE SOCIETY is a non-profit charity registered on the 11 April 2008. The founding members are Elsa Hadiyanto, Isobel Liew, and Yuliana Velic. As of July 2010, three new members join the committee - Angela Deasy Hartanto, Ivan Himawan, and Silvia Susanto. Father Gregory Peter Jacobs SJ of St Ignatius Parish, Toowong is the society's Spiritual Adviser and Christine Ling who is a chartered accountant, is the society's Auditor.
THE AIM OF THE SOCIETY is to assist the Canossian Sisters to build a kindergarten at Tofa, a small village near Kupang, in West Timor. The education and especially the ethical guidance provided by the Sisters to the village children will benefit the entire community in Tofa and surrounding villages.

**Update** 
As of October 2012 the kindergarten is completed and running, catering for around 100 kindergarten children.  Thankfully, because there is more space, the school is also opened for 50 grade one children.
